Sunny’s Official Bio

Before becoming a full-time writer, Sunny worked as a legal consultant, a philanthropic advisor and consultant, and a law professor. But through it all, she was always writing—filling journals, scribbling ideas, and starting and restarting stories.

In her mid-50s, she stopped waiting for the “right time” and began to write full-time.

Today, Sunny lives in the south of France, surrounded by the sea, hilltop villages, and the luminous light that has inspired generations of artists. Most mornings begin with a strong cup of coffee on the terrace while enjoying the gentle breeze of the sea.

A Suitable Woman (out on submission)

Read an excerpt from Chapter 1

The air smelled faintly of lavender and starch, yet it was thick with whispers, as Amanda had feared. She was met with an unwelcome sight: a former schoolmate, Antoinelle, known less for her wit than for her dulcet cruelty. She stood poised upon the fitting dais, receiving a final adjustment to an extravagant ball gown of gleaming crimson silk.

Standing amid such carefully fashioned illusions, Amanda’s thoughts drifted, as they often did, to her mother’s fervent warnings on matrimony.

“Amanda, my darling, you could bring scandal upon our family name. Don’t you see? I accepted your pursuit of education, but working? No suitable husband will want a wife who is not devoted.”

Audra’s dream is to leave her small town and go to college as far away as possible. What better place to discover and fulfill her desires than at university.

Audra wins!
