Sunny’s Official Bio

Before becoming a full-time writer, Sunny worked as a legal consultant, a philanthropic advisor and consultant, and a law professor. But through it all, she was always writing—filling journals, scribbling ideas, and starting and restarting stories.

In her mid-50s, she stopped waiting for the “right time” and began to write full-time.

Today, Sunny lives in the south of France, surrounded by the sea, hilltop villages, and the luminous light that has inspired generations of artists. Most mornings begin with a strong cup of coffee on the terrace while enjoying the gentle breeze of the sea.

A Suitable Woman (out on submission)

23-year-old Amanda is ahead of her time, especially for a woman in the 1870s. She’s earned a degree and now works at the family-owned bank in booming downtown St. Louis. The upcoming debutante season, and marriage market are of no interest until duty calls and she is asked to chaperone her younger sister to London for the season.

Against Amanda’s wishes, she acquiesces, escorting Charlotte to their Aunt Fiona’s, hoping to return home immediately after seeing her situated. What happens next is more than even Amanda could have imagined: family secrets, an Oxford professor who vexes, then charms her, a persistent—and most unwelcome suitor, unexpected peril, and a series of revelations that shake the foundation of everything Amanda holds dear.
